THANKSGIVING FOR GOD’S HELP by ELDER AMOS MWANGI KAROKI
- Faith- it’s impossible to please God without faith.
- We should have a different spirit (working spirit) numbers 14:24. But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others have. He has remained loyal to me, so I will bring him into the land he explored. His descendants will possess their total share of that land.
- We need to keep our focus on Christ. (for us to concur within the boundaries, Philippians 3:12-14, I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. In verse 13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. 3:14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
- We must deal with the spirit of Cain Genesis 4:4-7, the spirit of envy or jealousy. Genesis 4:4 Abel also brought a gift—the best portions of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift, verse 5, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. Cain became very angry, and he looked sad. In verse 6, “Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so sad? Verse 7: You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
- It is about humility Mathew 5:5. Proverbs 16:18 Matthew 5:5 God blesses the humble, for they will inherit the whole earth. Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.
- Need to be obedient than to sacrifice
- Good for us to have a heart Psalms 50:10-14 For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills.50:11 I know every bird on the mountains, and all the animals of the field are mine. In verse 12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it.50:13 Do I eat the meat of bulls? Do I drink the blood of goats? In verse 14 Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God and keep the vows you made to the Most High.
