Genesis

P.C.E.A Neema church started on 1st January 1987. The plot was donated by Presbyterial woman’s guild.  It was dedicated by then Nakuru Parish Minister- Rev. Stephen Njoroge Kariuki.  The same day there was an improtu fund-drive which collected a sum of Ksh. 17,132.35.

A small thatched structure was constructed a place of worship and given a name P.C.E.A Girls Hostels. The pioneers of the church were 5 families and later joined by 2 families. These were:

  1. & Mrs. Charles Ngugi Gicharu
  2. Mr & Mrs. Samuel Wathigo
  3. Ruth Naisenya
  4. The late Rahab Ngendo Mang’ara
  5. The Late Miriam Wamuyu Ngunju
  6. The Late Mary Wairimu Kinyanjui
  7. Phyllis Wangeci

Journey

They later changed the name to P.C.E.A Hyrax-Hellen Mugo. The church grew in membership and there was a need for a bigger sanctuary and on 30th December 2001 the ground breaking was done on 30th December 2001 by Rev. Jonathan Ole Lila we started building this sanctuary who was then Parish Minister Dr. Arthur Parish.

When they looked back and saw how God’s grace has been sufficient they felt there is a need to associate ourselves with this God’s grace and the name Neema was born during the laying of foundation stone on 23rd May 2004 which was laid by Rev. Wanjihia.  The sanctuary was completed in the year 2011, and its official dedication was done on 22nd January 2012 by the RT REV. David R. Gathanju Moderator of 19th G.A.

Today we worship in this magnificent sanctuary with a sitting capacity of 1,200 Members.
